Approximately eighty musicians, professional and amateur, coming from many states, will gather for the four-day event to perform the great instrumental and vocal works of the Baroque masters.
August 22nd, 2010 - Bach Festival Prelude Performance by Ray Cornils - Baroque Organ Recital - Christ Church Episcopal, North Conway
The Festival opens with a unique opportunity to experience a Baroque Organ recital at Christ Church, Episcopal, Main Street, North Conway on the Casavant free-standing, two manual tracker organ. Concert time: 4 PM FEATURING RAY CORNILS, Municipal Organist for the City of Portland.
August 27, 28, 29, 2010 - Bach Festival Choral and Instrumental Programs - Fryeburg Academy, Fryeburg Maine
Three major concert performances are scheduled for the Bach Festival on Friday and Saturday evening at 7:30 PM, and Sunday 4 PM, all at the new state of the art performance venue at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center at Fryeburg Academy, Fryeburg, Maine just minutes from North Conway. A special performance of a Baroque Opera by Handel will be presented on Saturday evening. Both works for soloists and small ensembles as well as larger works for full chamber orchestra and chorus are scheduled for performance on Friday evening and Sunday afternoon at this year's Festival. The full Bach Festival Chorus, soloists and orchestra will bring the 2010 Bach Festival to a close on Sunday afternoon.
